Darren Clare CEO

As CEO, Darren combines his experience in business development, sales and marketing to direct the company’s vision and strategy. Before acquiring Stratton Craig in 2008, Darren held roles as Head of Sales and Business Development for Swatch UK, BT and Philips Consumer Electronics. He has particular expertise within the healthcare, financial services and consumer sectors.

Jack Craze Head of Copy

Jack is a versatile writer and editor with over 16 years’ experience. Combining copywriting and journalism, he has written for clients as diverse as EDF Energy, the Department of Health and the United Nations, and publications including the Guardian, the Times Literary Supplement and the New Internationalist.

With a core focus on sustainability, Jack specialises in features, thought leadership articles, corporate reports and publications, and over the years has won several awards for his work. He can write to Global Reporting Initiative standards, and has produced sustainability reports, integrated reports and strategy papers for a range of global organisations.

Once a keen footballer, Jack has now accepted he will never play for Liverpool FC and has instead taken up cycling.

Steve Hulbert Client Services Director

Steve started his career at a London media agency, cutting his teeth as an account manager for the National Trust and RNLI. After this he moved into the world of publishing where he worked for one of the UK’s largest media owners.

Always commercially focused, Steve’s client-first approach has brought success across various types of project, varying from publishing consumer print titles through to complex app builds for clients such as UBS Bank, Hewlett Packard, Specialized Bicycles and AutoTrader.

When he’s not at work you can usually find Steve on the golf course or riding his bike. Likely to say: “Anyone coming out for a ride?”

Claire Wilson Content Strategy Director

Claire is a communications professional with over 15 years’ experience. She earned her stripes in marketing and communications roles with large financial services firms, most recently as Head of Communications for AMP Capital in Sydney.  She enjoys nothing more than making complex ideas simple and accessible for all audiences.

Claire has an instinct for great content which is complemented by the commercial skills she has honed in her corporate roles.  As Stratton Craig’s Content Strategy Director, she works with our clients to design fully integrated content strategies which support their goals – helping them to create high quality, engaging content in a disciplined and repeatable way.

Nina Whittaker Client Services Manager

Nina joined Stratton Craig in 2009 and has more than seven years of account management experience, working for a wide range of clients including Citroen, Clydesdale Bank, Mothercare, Clifford Chance and the Welsh Government. Nina’s ability to think laterally, combined with a keen eye for detail, enables her to manage in-depth, long-term projects with precision and control.

In addition to working across key accounts, Nina is also closely involved in the strategic direction of the business, ensuring we align with the needs of our clients.

An avocado aficionado, Nina enjoys exploring the hidden corners of Bristol, taking photographs and scoping out her next bite-sized travel adventure.

Paul Weedon Account Manager

Paul began his career in the film industry – which is by no means as glamorous as it sounds – working as an archive researcher for a documentary company in London. In 2013, he made the move to Bristol and has worked as an account manager ever since. He joined Stratton Craig in June 2017.

With experience managing projects in the financial, retail, entertainment, charity and arts sectors, Paul is always eager to throw himself in at the deep end. He enjoys getting stuck in to a new brief and working closely with clients and creatives to come up with intelligent solutions.

With a sideline in freelance journalism, Paul can usually be found enjoying Bristol’s vibrant music scene and finds time to interview musicians, composers, filmmakers and anyone else who might pique his interest whenever his hectic schedule allows.

Anna Fozzard Copywriter

Anna joined Stratton Craig as a Junior Copywriter having recently graduated from Sheffield Hallam University. With an English degree under her belt and experience working in communications for The Guild of Professional Estate Agents, Anna is a keen writer with a penchant for website copy and blogs. Since joining Stratton Craig, Anna has worked for a variety of clients, ranging from Moss Bros to BMI Healthcare.

When not putting pen to paper Anna loves nothing more than scoping out independent places to eat and drink, and then burning it all off with an intense ballet class. A country girl at heart, she always finds time to put on her wellies for a ramble over the hills.

Gemma Brown Account Executive

After several years working for an awards consultancy and helping to write hundreds of successful submissions for a variety of businesses, Gemma decided to make the move to Stratton Craig to apply her skills to the wider written communications world.

Gemma’s ability to connect with a business and understand its ethos, tone of voice and style has helped her to seamlessly fit into her role of Account Executive at Stratton Craig. She has transferred her copywriting, editing and proofing skills to projects for clients in the automotive, financial services, travel and retail industries.

As a live music enthusiast, Gemma often spends her spare time hunting out the latest new bands/djs and going to regular gigs and festivals. If she’s not dancing away to her favourite tunes, she’s most likely training for her next long distance running event.
