Events / Experiential, Set and prop design, Event Management

We're a multi-award winning theatrical production company specialising in delivering immersive and interactive encounters. From our large multi-disciplinary HQ in Bristol, our skilled team of client, logistics, creative, design and production managers cook up a range of magical theatrical experiences for both UK and international clients. Over the years we’ve secured access to all the ingredients we need to create unexpected moments of pop-up joy.

Our mission is to create unexpected moments of delight and wonder, delivering meaningful connections between performers and audiences. We bring people together through story and play in new environments, making memories and engaging imaginations. We work with a variety of clients including brands, retailers, public sector and cultural organisations, with a wide variety of audiences, often people who don't engage with traditional theatre. We are a company that great performers and makers want to work with. We deliver to campaign objectives, always with some added Bakehouse magic, leaving audiences, and clients, feeling positive.

Key People

Kate Statham Managing Director

One of the three founding members of Bakehouse Factory, Kate is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the company. In practice, this can mean anything from chairing a management meeting, cooking up a brand new concept, speaking with partner organisations and clients, onsite event managing, or packing a van...! Always destined to be both practical and theatrical, Kate is from a family of engineers & inventors and studied Performing Arts at Uni. Since graduating, Kate has gained 20 years’ experience of producing creative projects, developing partnerships and collaborations, and undertaking promotion & PR across the full spectrum of arts & culture. Past clients and projects include festivals such as Manchester International Festival and The Big Chill; artists such Rankin, Spencer Tunic, Anthony Gormley, Elbow, Damon Albarn, and cultural institutions such as The Pleasance Theatre, Manchester Museum, Frieze Art Fair and Halle Orchestra. Kate has also brokered numerous partnerships between media, brands and the creative industries, credits include: BBC Radio 1, Channel 4, BBC1, Sky Arts, Guardian, Telegraph, Sunday Times, Absolut, Amazon.co.uk, Becks, Skype, Nokia, Zippo amongst others

Hannah McGavin Creative Director

Hannah is the theatrical force behind Bakehouse Factory - creating characters, writing scripts, choreographing spectacular shows and thinking up fresh ways to take a variety of audiences on new journeys.  A performer herself, she is usually found talking in a variety of accents whilst typing new tales, or donning a costume for one of Bakehouse's pre event photo shoots or films. Hannah is a hands on performer manager, specialising in pre event character development and onsite event direction.   Hannah's back ground as a dancer, interactive performer, choreographer and teacher naturally led her to forming Bakehouse Factory with Dan and Kate in 2011. She has choreographed and performed for the BBC, S4C and Sky, as well as creating large scale stadium shows at Millennium Stadium, Murryfield, Goodison Park, Durham & Lords cricket grounds. She has toured the UK, Europe and USA with a number of bands, and had her family shows performed at National Theatre 'Watch This Space', The Udderbelly at Edinburgh Festival, BFI South Bank, Glastonbury Festival, Bestival Isle of Wight & Toronto and Millennium Centre Cardiff.  She is a guest teacher at Royal Welsh Collage of Music and Drama, choreographing the annual costume design for theatre show for the last 6 years. ...

Dan McGavin Design Director

Dan’s vision for set and prop design has been a driving force for Bakehouse since he co-founded the company back in 2011. He turns amazing ideas into 3D reality, transforming spaces with the help of his busy workshop team.  His creative passion for installations, interactive experiences and events is evident in everything we do from the large fully bespoke builds to the small magical details which define Bakehouse Factory's productions. Dan is a hugely experienced set builder and rigger; having worked on sets for BBC’s Dr Who, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory at the Theatre Royal, The National Theatre of Wales, Punch Drunk, Gideon Reeling and Lost & Found. As well as this, Dan has worked on sets for award ceremonies, including the MOBOs, NME and The Brits, he has also designed and built many installations for Glastonbury Festival, Bestival and Secret Garden Sound System
