Bright Event Management Ltd

Event Management, Events / Experiential

Based at The Paintworks, Bristol, Bright is a creative event production and management company, run by Andy Oswin and Alistair Paul.

Bright is a creative, dynamic and results driven event management and production company, based at The Paintworks in Bristol. We produce conferences, meetings, product launches, awards, incentives and roadshows in the UK and overseas.

When is a whisper louder than a shout? What makes a simple meeting spectacular? What cements your message in your audiences? minds? And how can you achieve striking results, without breaking the bank? The answer lies in thinking different. What is thinking different? For effective events, it means asking the right questions long before you consider the answers. It means thinking smaller to achieve bigger. It?s understanding that silence can be more powerful than thunder. And sometimes the smartest thing you can do is be a bit silly.

In many ways we're just like any other events company. We offer event production, management and creative services. But there's nothing standard about the way we do it. When your events team thinks differently, you get results and so much more.

Pharmacy Management National Forum

"In three years, with Bright's expertise, we've established the forum as a 'must attend' event for NHS pharmacists and grown attendee numbers by 35%." Chairman, Pharmacy Management In many ways the second annual forum for pharmacists was made easier as the lessons from the first had been learnt and the client was very happy to repeat the event format and structure. The event was nonetheless challenging in its scale. Firstly, a delegate registration and satellite session booking system was created and managed, with a delegate helpline and full suite of delegate materials. Then there were the 27 satellite sessions and over 80 poster presentations to co-ordinate, along with the management of 100+ presenters and sponsors. On the day, the event runs smoothly, managed by a 12 strong front of house team co-ordinating delegate registration, exhibition space, catering zones and breakout sessions, supported by a technical team of 20+ building the technical production across 4 floors of the busy conference centre. The day provided great networking opportunities for the pharmaceutical industry and NHS pharmacists, all reporting a breaking down of barriers and an insight into a more collaborative way forward. The highlight though had to a motivational talk given by the remarkable Debra Searle (see...

Matrix roadshow (new season collection)

"We have worked with Bright for 10 years and they still continue to add value to every event" National Education Manager UK & Ireland, Matrix Over the 6 years we have been managing the roadshow average audiences have increased from 120 to 300 per show, a 250% increase! How far would you go to see your customers? Would you drive up to Scotland, take the ferry to Ireland, maybe you would go as far as the Isle of Man or do you stick to London and hope that they will all come to you? High impact, low cost solutions help our client to leverage the reach of a 25 city, roadshow to differentiate their brand, standing out from competitors as a brand committed to doing business with their customers in their own backyards. Potentially a big drain on your internal resources, we minimise the negative impact of the roadshow, by condensing the activity to five weeks. We put two teams out on the road simultaneously, with each team producing 3 shows per week. Carefully managing the complexity of the journey plan, we are able to run shows back to back, reducing equipment and transport costs, significantly. In a fast moving sector with seasonal trends...

Eli Lilly & Co - Internal Product Launch

"The sales force are off to a fantastic start and the launch event was a big part of that, the attention to detail and theming helped us to communicate a really strong brand identity to the team" Brand Manager, Eli Lilly & Co Eli Lilly & Co were launching a new product into an important and competitive disease area, hospital specialists needed to leave aligned with the brand values and revved up ready to start selling. In discovery, we understood the product brand messaging to have synergy with advanced engineering and coinciding with the start of the Formula One racing season, in a season where rule changes and technological advancements were the talk of the day, we developed a theme with motor racing technology at its heart. Located in the TAG Aviator Hotel, Farnborough, delegates were greeted by an F1 car in conference and brand livery parked outside the hotel's entrance, with our very own Stig, our client who revealed his identity in the welcome address to great effect. Business sessions were aligned to the various technological advances in F1 cars with the relevant car parts being used as props to animate workshop sessions. The highlight of the 5 day conference was an...

All employee conference for 500+ delegates at Newbury Racecourse

"There was a real buzz on the buses back to the office and we've already had some fantastic feedback from the teams, Jason was a great host and really did manage to get them all involved" Communications Manager, Arval (BNP Paribas) In June we worked with our client in the finance sector to organise their annual all employee conference at Newbury Racecourse. An important event for the company, in terms of the business disruption and being the only chance to bring over 500 employees together under one roof. Key to the success of the event was for every member of their staff to hear first hand from the leadership team of the coming year's priorities and to have the chance to ask questions, to be part of it. Host Jason Dawes, one time Top Gear presenter and well known motor industry journalist, offered a fresh sense of humour to the conference, and really represented the delegate?s with his 'investigative' approach to interviewing the CEO and board members during the Q&A. The venue was perfect for this short half day conference, with plenty of space to display manufacturers vehicles and to accommodate breaks and lunch. Maximising the high ceilings in the main event...

Dyson Christmas Party

A wonderfully creative christmas party for 1000+ employees at Motion Nightclub in Bristol "The Christmas party thrown by British engineering firm Dyson puts others to shame with an elaborate design extravaganza. This year's theme was "topsy turvy" and featured a burning hydrant, upside-down living room and a robotic backwards bird." The Telegraph Now in our fourth year of producing and managing the Christmas Party for Dyson, we love working with this wonderfully creative bunch with boundless imagination and energy, you could say a dream client. The most recent theme was Topsy Turvy, our execution, inspired in equal measure by Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass and Leandro Erlich's installation art, was based on an upside down, inside out, back to front house. Logistically and technically a challenge; we needed 18 coaches to collect and return our 1000+ party goers from 22 different locations across 4 counties, a team of 30+ in the kitchens and front of house to prepare and serve the food and structural surveys to ensure the safety of the aerial performers living in our upside down house. Bespoke audio and video production, costumed performers and custom lighting states all enhanced the theatrical experience on arrival, before the highlight of the night...

Bristol Media Project: Vision Creative Conference

An inspiring 2 day conference for 250+ delegates from the creative industries at Arnolfini in Bristol "The vision conference was two of the most inspirational days I have ever spent out of the office. The changes we are making to our business as a result are already having a positive impact on our growth and profitability" Creative Director, Video Production Co, (delegate) "We couldn't have done it without Bright, their experience helped to produce creative, engaging and imaginative formats for all the sessions, I'm really pleased to be working with Bright again this year" General Manager, Bristol Media Are you prepared to fight for your audiences' attention? So, what will you do for their money? You'll need to know the answer because they?re sure to ask and if you've not got a good answer they won't be coming, let alone coming back. The key to creating engaging content, is beginning with the customer and their needs. Engaging content offers something new: a new perspective, an unexpected laugh, a moment of truth, or something helpful, inspiring, or entertaining, something of value. The value in this event like so many others was realised by influencing the behaviour of the audience. If it didn't inspire them to...

Alistair Paul Account Director

I specialise in event production, logistics and travel management. I have managed everything from national conferences, award ceremonies, road shows, gala dinners, product launches and incentive trips to corporate christmas parties. I am fortunate to work with some wonderful people, from a diverse range of companies. Attention-to-detail is paramount to thinking different; that includes how you travel, where you stay, where you eat and how you might fill a spare moment on your event agenda. That's what I love most - planning the coach trips, the charter flights, the ice creams by the pool on a hot afternoon, the 'dish dash dosh dash' shopping trip around an Omani souk, the upside-down living room for a 'topsy turvy' party.... Making and sharing memorable experiences with delegates is what great event management is all about. To find out more, contact me at Bright on 0117 971 1127 or email alistair@thinkbright.co.uk.
