Happy Hour acquires Cheltenham based direct marketing agency DMS
Bristol-based Happy Hour, a top 40 UK creative agency, is excited to announce that it has acquired direct marketing agency, DMS (previously Direct Marketing Strategies Ltd) from administrators.
The acquisition provides a seamless transition of all the DMS business assets, staff and client roster into a new Happy Hour subsidiary, HH Direct Marketing Ltd, trading as DMS Agency.
DMS has a 30 year history and is the go-to agency for cause and gaming-led fundraising work. As a specialist direct marketing agency for the not for profit sector they build fundraising strategies and campaigns, develop new products and work as a strategic partner for a wide range of charity clients. Their expertise and experience covers every aspect of non-profit and profit-for-purpose marketing and fundraising.
Following a smooth transition through the Christmas break, Happy Hour announced it is business as usual for DMS. The agency will continue to trade under the DMS trademark and brand, from the same premises in Cheltenham, with all staff and supplier network moving with the transition. Additionally, the acquisition provides DMS with a wider set of services and support available to clients.
Happy Hour is an award-winning above-the-line creative production agency, and one of the leading response TV agencies in the UK. They specialise in stand-out brand response advertising and service a breadth of clients across retail, gaming, financial services and charity sectors.
2018 marked a big year for Happy Hour as the agency turned 15, acquired DMS and boosted their rankings in the Campaign annual agency listings. Currently ranking #39 in Campaign’s Top 100 creative agencies in the UK, Happy Hour is ranked #5 on the Regional Agency list, as well as being in the Top 3 for response TV in the UK.
Tom George, Happy Hour founder says:
“We’re extremely excited to be able to take DMS Agency forward. DMS is the best agency in cause and gaming-led fundraising work, and as a trading business they've been perfectly successful.
We have known the team at DMS for many years, and know just how experienced they are. By bringing the team into our group, we can support them in continuing to do what they do best, making great, effective direct marketing for many worthy causes and organisations.”
Kate James, Head of Agency at DMS commented:
“The opportunity to continue to build the DMS offering with support from Happy Hour is a fantastic one. We are incredibly excited about this new future and are very much looking forward to taking the agency from strength to strength.”
This latest acquisition adds to Happy Hour’s portfolio of businesses that also includes a music publishing company, and interests in a film finance company.
