Spike Design tenants smash Kickstarter campaign
Spike Design tenants smash Kickstarter: a truly collaborative project
Spike Design tenant, high-performance cycling equipment company Tailfin, is an example of how collaboration can achieve great things. On 25th July, Tailfin launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund its newest product, the AeroPack. It reached its £20k target in less than 3 hours and smashed 200% only 24 hours later.
Tailfin is a lean, mean, start-up machine and a labour of love for founder and mechanical engineer Nick and Operations Manager James, who have been based at Spike Design for the past year. Since then, they have joined forces with fellow tenants on a number of activities and initiatives, with the Kickstarter launch demonstrating that the combined might of so many creatives can create incredible things!
Tailfin’s collaborators include Ed Cox of Benchmark Design, a keen cyclist who has been providing part-time consultation, advice and know-how; Sam Dawson of Kube Productions, who has been creating videos for Tailfin; and Simon Winter of Winter Design, who has been providing his website know-how. They’ve also engaged Kate Gordon, Brightspark PR, an ex-SD tenant still based in the building, for PR and social media support.
The Kickstarter campaign is currently at £45,000 - and moving up all the time! Take a look at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tailfin/tailfin-aeropack-the-fastest-way-to-carry-gear-on.
