Immersive industry specialist, Render, builds on 60% year on year growth with the appointment of emergent tech professional and ex-Mubaloo business development director, Chris Price.

Price, who set up apps company, Mubaloo, with well-known South West entrepreneur and MBE, Mark Mason, grew the agency to £4 million turnover and 65 people in what was the rapidly evolving mobile application development space before securing an exit sale.

At Render, Price takes up the role of business development director. His remit includes building its blue chip client base in the emergent immersive technology field of virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality applications for industry, a market forecast to grow at a CAGR of 98.8% to 2021, where commercial sectors represent 85%.*

“The potential for immersive applications to transform the way industry operates is vast. The reality is it’s a whole new dimension in communication that delivers value in spades and enterprises in sectors as diverse as aviation, engineering and manufacturing are on to it,” said Mark Miles, managing director at Render. “We are in a rapid growth phase and are excited that Chris, who is already familiar with evolving tech markets, will help us on this journey.”

Price’s appointment is the latest in a series of senior recruits, which also sees ex Mason Zimbler Managing Director, Susie McFarland, acting as non-exec director.

2018/19 will see continued investment in research and development, as well as in marketing, client services and the development and 3D teams.

“I’m really excited to be at the forefront of the next significant technology wave to impact industry, having been through this with mobile apps,” said Price, business development director at Render. “Virtual reality is fantastically engaging as a platform and the technology is evolving daily in ways that have far reaching benefits for corporates, from the multi-user VR sales show room to the ‘live’, virtual training in the field. Render is well placed to capitalise on all of these opportunities."
