Secret. Abandoned. Award-winning!
Oakwood picked up a Marketing Campaign Award last night for work launching The Postal Museum and Mail Rail in London. The charitable institution had been shortlisted by the Museum & Heritage 2018 Awards alongside five others, including the Victoria Art Gallery and Oxford University Museums.
Oakwood were invited to help plan and create the positioning, marketing and brand activation for launch in mid-2017. The museum reveals the surprising and fascinating story of the first social network, showcasing extraordinary collections including interactive galleries, an immersive subterranean rail ride and modern research facilities, through to a wide-range of learning activities.
The project team were determined to capture the excitement of new discovery and created a 'Secret. Abandoned. Forgotten.... Until Now' message across OoH and social media channels. Judges rewarded the creative output with the comment ’a perfect example of a well-rounded campaign’
Pre–opening, ticket sales were 148% ahead of target with a 3 month sales pipeline achieved to put the museum firmly on the capitals' tourist map.
Phil Marshall ECD and Co Founder added ‘We are so pleased we won the marketing campaign award. It’s an awesome team effort
and this demonstrates the power of co-creation with an ambitious and forward thinking client team!
