Vision 2017 explores Transformational Thinking with APG award judges
Vision delegates will learn practical techniques from the UK’s top brands leading the way in transformative creative business thought.
On 14th November at Vision 2017, James Caig, Head of Strategy at leading digital marketing agency True Digital, will chair an exclusive panel on ‘Transformational Thinking’, with expert judges from this year’s recent APG Creative Strategy Awards.
The panellists, Kevin Chesters, Chief Strategy Officer at Ogilvy London, Bogdana Butnar, Head of Planning at Poke, and Clare Phillips, Head of Brand Strategy at ITV, will explore the different strands of ‘Transformational Thinking’ that emerged from this year’s APG award winners.
James Caig comments:
“With the average lifespan of businesses getting shorter, adaptability and inventiveness are critical factors in business success. Transformational Thinking characterises this ability to evolve, and the APG Creative Strategy Awards celebrate the brand strategies that best demonstrate this. They prove a creative approach is the key to producing memorable work. Culturally relevant and commercially successful marketing comes from powerful thinking and ideas that cut through, not just deep pockets.”
This year’s Gold winners show the value of creative thinking when applied throughout the brand strategy process and across every aspect of a brand experience, and will be explored in the panel at Vision.
More than 150 papers were entered, and the final shortlist of 25 represents the best thinking in the industry, regardless of channel, budget or specialism. The Grand Prix went to BBDO New York and BBDO San Francisco, who re-invented the dated ‘Barbie’ doll into a culturally relevant icon again. Other Gold winners included MEC London for Change4Life’s Sugar Swap app campaign, and FCB Inferno, London for The Big Issue’s ‘Change Please’, a campaign that resulted in an entirely new product being developed.
James Caig adds:
“The judges were blown away by the rigour, imaginative leaps and diversity of output of the papers, and we’re looking forward to sharing the themes and ways of thinking that excited us most. I hope the panel will inspire everyone to think differently and unlock competitive advantage, so that delegates will come away feeling equipped to start from a different place when they get back to work.”
Aside from this specialist panel, Vision 2017 hosts the stage for a day packed with a varied and high-profile speaker line-up to engage, inspire, and educate over 350 of the region’s creative business owners. Delegates will experience a day full of entrepreneurial spirit, thought leadership, knowledge sharing and an opportunity to connect with peers. Expect to expand your mind and liberate yourself from ‘business as usual’.
