The Big Book Crit for young creative talent returns to Bristol
Over the years at The Real Adventure Unlimited, we’ve committed ourselves to investing in new talent, and are thrilled to have been able to expand various teams across the agency with new junior positions.
The Big Book Crit is one great way for us to connect with young, talented creatives, so we’re delighted to be hosting another instalment of this mentoring programme, put together by the DMA, IDM and the Graeme Robertson Trust.
The event pairs students and emerging creatives in need of guidance with seasoned creative directors, in a showcase event that includes inspirational talks; invaluable, speed-dating-style book and portfolio critiques; and of course, the chance to network (with drinks and nibbles, naturally).
Come to the Big Book Crit in Bristol on Thursday 23rd March
During the session, students will have the chance to share a selection of their work with senior creatives from agencies across the UK, including RAPP, Reading Room, Signal, Iris Worldwide, BJL, The Sharp Agency, and our very own (and very seasoned) creative director, Ian Bates.
Don’t just take our word for it...
We loved the Big Book Crit! This chilled-out event was informative and inspiring. We got invaluable information on improvements we could make to our portfolio. We would recommend you go – and take notes!

The Big Book Crit also presents a great opportunity for us as an agency.
It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to spot the future. Building relationships, even at this early stage, is crucial.
Ian Bates, Creative Director, The Real Adventure Unlimited
Your creative career starts here
As long as you have an existing book of work or a portfolio you are welcome to join the event, which is open to creative teams and individuals as well as students at any stage of their course.
A mix of creative directors and other senior creatives will be on hand to offer feedback on your work, and advice on getting a job in the creative industry.
And you really could end up with a job, like Grace, who we met at the Big Book Crit in April last year, and who now has a paid internship here at The Real Adventure Unlimited.
We spend so much time trying to get the attention of industry professionals, and here they all are in one room. If you want their attention, now is the time! You’d be crazy not to.
Grace Carey, Account Administrator, The Real Adventure Unlimited
