Budding young Scientist, Gerald Ruffell is the first of many to receive a special sponsorship aimed at scientists facing personal disadvantages to attend university. This is part of a new Global Undergraduate Sponsorship Scheme from Bath based online publisher, SelectScience.

The ongoing scheme aims to support the development of young scientists around the world throughout their studies as they work hard to achieve scientific excellence and develop to become the next generation of leading scientists.

SelectScience introduced the scheme after CEO, Arif Butt was keen to help young scientists worldwide. He says, "It is important to give something back to the global scientific community and educate scientists on the importance and value of good communication. This helps us ensure that we are working with scientists to make the future healthier".

As an innovative online publisher in the science industry, SelectScience is only too happy to create opportunities for others and give back to the community that the company is deeply committed to.

Gerald has just started a 3 year BSc (Hons) degree in Biology at Cardiff University. Gerald is the first of his family to attend University and despite limitations due to illness, has high hopes to make a difference in the field of Biology.

Gerald says "It's been such an amazing opportunity to have been sponsored by SelectScience. The financial assistance has allowed me to focus so much more on my studies. I am honestly taken aback by their generosity".
