JonesMillbank showcases Bristol in 360°
JonesMillbank have released a 360° virtual reality tour of some of Bristol's best known locations including Queen Square, College Green and Millenium Square.
Virtual reality is still an emerging but fast growing technology, with businesses and customers alike aiming to differentiate between gimmick and a powerful, useful form of content.
"We've certainly seen examples of both to date" says Russell Jones, Director at JonesMillbank. "Film trailers in 360° for example can garner more interest than a 2D video but aren't representative of the film itself. For sectors such as travel, tourism and hospitality however they provide an incredibly useful and entertaining form of content for customers - providing viewers a very real, immersive sense of place whilst giving them the directoral control on where to look and when".
"The growth in the technology is huge too, with the likes of Google Cardboard and Samsung's Gear VR making an immersive experience incredibly affordable. YouTube, Facebook and Twitter also natively support 360° videos, across desktop and mobile, making it extremely accessible".
"With a strong client base in travel and tourism it was a no brainer to invest in the technology and provide the highest quality currently possible to our existing and future clients - in this case a total resolution of over 8K, twice as detailed as 4K".
"We're really excited by the new product offering and we already have upcoming projects with a holiday company and drinks manufacturer".
