Strategic digital design agency Nomensa has become one of just 14% of businesses within the UK to achieve the Investors in People(IiP) Gold Standard Award[1].

Having previously claimed Bronze, Nomensa has now achieved Gold after going through several stages of assessment, demonstrating best employment practices for the support and development of its employees.

In doing so, the pan-European agency, which has offices in London, Bristol and Amsterdam, joins an elite force of British businesses that have gone out of their way to empower the nation’s workforce for the overall benefit of the economy - by adhering to IiP standards.

Nomensa MD, Sally Lincoln said: “We currently employ 90 members of staff and hope to grow that number to 100 by the end of the year. A key component in achieving this is our continual investment in our people and helping to create a place where they enjoy working and feel empowered to progress further within their own careers.

“Providing our workforce with the guidance they need and creating a culture that nurtures wellbeing certainly helps keep our team motivated and aids in achieving success.  The theory that by investing in the happiness of staff so that they in turn feel more open to proactively contributing towards the success of a business is not a complicated one to initiate, especially with the IiP framework available for guidance.”

“Investing in people and business culture is something we feel very passionate about. Overall it means investing in your business and the people who are helping to build it - and that, for me, is a crucial element to success for a company of any size.”

Companies including Nomensa have found that the IiP and similar schemes have a major role to play in retaining the best staff and ultimately contributing to overall growth.

Established in 2001, Nomensa also undertakes the Great Place to Work Scorecard Survey each year and is also ISO 9001 accredited, displaying significant interest in creating a positive working environment for its employees.

Following a visit to Nomensa, IiP Assessor, Manjit Sylvester- Jhalli said: “Nomensa is a company that prides itself on having a very professional and client focused approach, and despite employing a relatively small number of people, it consistently demonstrated that it operates at a level far exceeding its size.”

The Investors in People accreditation was established in 1991 and works to raise the standard for people management worldwide. The award has a community of 75 countries across the world, with thousands of businesses working towards achieving it.
