Strategic UX agency Nomensa opens Amsterdam office
UK-based strategic user experience (UX) digital design firm Nomensa is continuing its European expansion with the opening of its Amsterdam office.
Nestled in the popular East side of the city, on ‘Weesperstraat’, Nomensa’s new office will be headed up by former Publicis Amsterdam recruit, Katelijn van Lieshout to support its growing client base in the Dutch capital.
The business, which combines experience in psychology, research, interaction design and technology to create ground-breaking digital experiences, has been operating in Amsterdam for the past two years working with international clients Liberty Global and Atradius. However, increasing demand from businesses for digital transformation and a growing client- base has lead to Nomensa setting up a formal base to support existing clients and the broader community out there.
Sally Lincoln, managing director of Nomensa, says “We are excited to be widening our European footprint and bringing all that we stand for, how we operate and what we believe to a new market.
“Building strong relationships with businesses and people within the industry in Amsterdam has played a key role in our decision-making. Having discovered more about the Dutch market over the last few years we felt that it would be a great base to support organisations operating in the region. We identified a clear gap in the market in terms of understanding the full potential of UX and digital transformation. Traditionally UX has been delivered by digital agencies and not specialists – and this is where Nomensa’s unique skill set, and expertise in accessibility in particular, has been able to add ‘business value’ to those that we work and collaborate with.
“Over the past few years Amsterdam has quickly become a heavyweight in the global tech arena and is investing heavily in building and growing its digital community. The city is rising quickly as a significant place to do digital business and our new office will further help to solidify Amsterdam’s reputation as a growing digital hub. We are looking forward to settling in to our new office and have ambitious growth plans - looking to build the team to roughly 30 experts over the next two years.”
Established in 2001, Nomensa has offices in both London and Bristol in the UK. The business has gone from strength to strength and over the past five years alone the team has more than doubled.
The 90-strong team work with organisations such as, Virgin Media, Ziggo, Liberty Global, Atradius, Cambridge University, P&G, the Royal Mail, the British Red Cross and the NHS as well as other leading brands to not just design or improve an online experience, but transform it, improving accessibility and usability.
