Win a pair of tickets to 5x15 Bristol
5×15 Bristol returns to the Tobacco Factory Theatres for another unmissable night. For those of you who haven’t made it to our first two events, the format is this: 5 speakers tell a story or tell us about their work for 15 minutes each. The talks are unscripted true tales of passion, obsession and adventure. Ideally each evening will present speakers from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines, so a scientist could be on the same line up as a biographer, musician, philanthropist, explorer, which makes for an entertaining evening and a cross-pollination of new ideas and people. Expect an eclectic and interesting evening for curious minds, in an atmosphere more saloon than salon.
Our first two events sold out completely, so be sure to get a ticket early: https://www.tobaccofactorytheatres.com/shows/5-x15/
We’ve had an amazing array of speakers, including Michael Eavis, Fahma Mohammed, Tim Dowling, Jay Griffiths, Professor David Nutt and Jess Thom to name a few. We are incredibly excited about our April line-up: Professor Ronald Hutton, a world expert on ancient and medieval paganism and magic will talk about “Why Witchcraft Works”; photographer Grace Gelder gives us “The Rough Guide to Marrying Yourself”; Daily Mash editor and comedy writer Tim Telling gives a very condensed course on “How to be Passable at Writing Comedy”; Claire Morpurgo speaks about her charity “Farms for City Children”, which she set up with husband Michael to enrich the lives of disadvantaged, urban children and Anna Freeman, novelist and multiple poetry slam champion tells us about the world of female prize fighters in Georgian Bristol that inspired her award winning novel, The Fair Fight.
As an exclusive offer to Bristol Media members, we are running a competition giving you the chance to win a pair of free tickets to this event, along with a bottle of champagne. To be in the running, simply sign up to our mailing list before 14th April at email@example.com telling us who you would most like to see speak at one of our events. The one rule is that they must be from Bristol or the South West. Good luck and see you there!
