BDH launch Bosch VR

Published on Thursday, 21st January 2016

This week BDH launched Bosch VR, a virtual reality experience of the extraordinary Garden Of Earthly Delights, by Hieronymus Bosch, and a part of the quincentenary celebrations of his life. The first level, 'Eden', is absolutely FREE to download.

This project is partly experimental so they would love your feedback and 'positive' reviews on the App Stores and please do share amongst your friends and colleagues too.

Hieronymus Bosch is a hero of the team at BDH. His images of different races enjoying the fruits of paradise are beautiful and his depiction of evolution 300 years before Darwin, shows the power of the creative imagination.

"Bosch is more than a painter... he acquired a magic vision." Henry Miller.

The Bosch VR app is now available for iPhones and Android Phones for Google Cardboard, and for Apple iPad (links to App Stores).

With Bosch VR (video trailer), you will ride on a flying fish into the Garden of Eden, be tempted by strange fruit and even stranger rituals in the Garden of Earthly Delights, visit Hell and hear the devil’s music, scored by composer Timo Baker. This is a completely new immersive way to experience art.

In March, BDH opens a 'Bosch VR Experience' in Bosch's home town, 's-Hertogenbosch, Holland, as a part of the much anticipated Bosch500 festival. The installation represents a 'virtual homecoming' for the famous triptych, which due to its fragility, cannot be transported from the Prado Gallery, Madrid, to join this largest ever collection of Bosch's artworks.

If you need a Cardboard Viewer, our special commemorative Bosch VR viewer is available on Amazon very soon.
