Hackathon produces 'Tinder for T-shirts'
In April 2015 Gravitywell packed up the studio and moved all their kit to the charming Cornish fishing village of Polperro for their first ever annual Hackathon.
A Hackathon, for those of you who are slightly bemused, is the chance for the team to shelve client work and focus collectively on just one venture of their own.
As well as some ‘wholesome recreation’, the Gravitywell team worked away conceiving, designing and building a project that could be finished within the week. You can read a little more about their story and process here.
Although their launch date is a little behind schedule it was a great success and they can now finally share with you the release of the product of their week away - “Garm” for iOS.
The Gravitywell team have created the ultimate free app to abolish all the heartbreak and heartache that comes with trying to find your perfect t-shirt match. With its super-smart Al Gore Rhythm that learns your tastes to a tee, Garm is 100% guaranteed to fill that t-shirt sized hole in your wardrobe with the one to make it whole again. It’s the most fun and time efficient way you could probably ever have to shop for t-shirts. Think tinder for t-shirts: you can pass on those threads that don’t take your fancy and at the same time put together a collection of on-point tees, all with the swipe of a finger!
Garm already boasts a catalogue of 1000’s of designer t-shirts but it continues to add new brands to guarantee that you’ll always be spoilt for choice.
Check out the Garm website, Download it from the App Store and see all the t-shirt greatness for yourself!
With that, Hackathon volume 1 was a great success, with the team looking forward to their second one to take place in March this year. The aim is to take the Spanish island of Mallorca by technological storm with a brand new project, so watch this space!
