Bristol-based creative design agency Fiasco Design were appointed by the organisation to redesign its visual identity, website and marketing collateral.

After being formed in early 2000 in a beaten up part of the old Tobacco Factory building in south Bristol, Tobacco Factory Theatres has forged an inspirational path to becoming one of the country’s most respected venues in just over ten years. The diversity of the programme, which includes theatre, puppetry, classical Shakespeare, new writing and devised plays, dance and comedy, combined with the astonishing average attendance capacity of 84%, make it one of the most well-attended, loved and popular theatres in the country.

Ben Steers, Creative Director at Fiasco Design said of the appointment: "It's been a wonderful and eye opening experiencing working with TFT. They're a fascinating brand with a rich heritage and they're doing some really great work at the moment. It's been great to get the opportunity to completely overhaul an entire identity system, as well as building a custom typeface from scratch. They've given us almost complete control over the creative process and trusted in us all the way. I'm really happy with the final outcome and look forward to doing further work with them"

Fiasco Design have been responsible for redesigning the company logo, visual identity system, season brochure, marketing collateral, signage and website. A fresh identity distinguishing TFT from its partners, while establishing its creative excellence and maintaining sense of heritage. In keeping with the organization's core beliefs.

Becky Cresswell, Marketing Manager at Tobacco Factory Theatres said of the appointment: “We’re absolutely delighted to be working with Fiasco Design on this project. It’s a very important time for Tobacco Factory Theatres, particularly as we continue to expand the amount of theatre we produce in-house and so it’s an opportune moment to look at our visual identity and at the way we represent ourselves online. Fiasco Design struck us straight away as a successful and ambitious organisation who demonstrated an insight into our organisation and this project which was fresh and inspiring.”
