Now dipping their toes into the digital age, publishers are experimenting with new practices and ideas for the first time. Having noticed this transition, Engine House are helping steer the direction by bringing to the table innovative Book Trailers.

Though an utterly foreign concept, Engine House believes that by following the proved success of first film trailers and later game trailers, book trailers could be a tangible marketing success.

Working with SALT Publishing and Bristol based author, Stefan Mohammed they created a trailer for YA fantasy thriller Bitter Sixteen released earlier this year, which has gone on to be a viable marketing device.

Careful to sell the story using conceptual ideas that capture mood and tone rather than revealing what should be left to the imagination, the trailers are a tiny snapshot of what is to come.

Engine House hope that by building on this success and the interest created at the book fair, Book Trailers will be seen as the next step in selling books.
