Digital Bristol Week 2-8 February
Digital Bristol Week returns to Bristol from Monday 2 to Sunday 8 February 2015 with an exciting schedule packed with a great selection of free events to develop your career and contacts.
This hugely successful collaboration - which on its debut in 2013 reached some 500 industry professionals - is back for a second event… And this time it’s even better.
Building on Bristol’s reputation as a centre of excellence for digital media, the BBC Bristol partnershiphas organised a free programme of events to help you understand the opportunities that digital brings.
Held across the city there’ll be stimulating discussions on the future of digital technology, hands-on workshops and training with leading professionals, and new elements involving hacking and making.
And as part of Digital Bristol Week, Bristol Media are delighted to be organising Open Doors, an opportunity for creative businesses from across the City to showcase their work to a new audience. One of the main aims for Digital Bristol Week is to support networking across the city and Open Doors will demonstrate to visitors the huge diversity and talent in our sector.
Open Doors takes place during the afternoon of Wednesday 4th February. If you would like to attend, booking via Eventbrite is essential. Places are available to book now although some of the sessions below are now sold out.
Dare West, Films @59, Calvium, Icon Films, Oakwood, Sift, TRA/EMO, Taxi, e3, Bristol Games Hub, The Bottleyard, Pervasive Media Studio, Spike Island, Knowle West Media Centre, Wildseed Studios, Ujima Radio and Kinneir Dufort.
The Business Day : How’s your business doing? Do you have a great board or advice network, strong business support, and plenty of external funding? Are you getting the best from your assets and people, informed by rigorous data analysis? And how’s your global trading…?
If any of these are things you could develop, then the Business Day on Friday 6th February is for you!
With input from Aardman, Channel 4, Twitter, Represent, Coull, saintnicks, McKinsey and SET Squared, there’s plenty of support to draw on, and new thinking to tap into, through a set of interlinked workshops and panels.
Based at the Engine Shed in Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone, the sessions cover all the ways to strengthen your business, delivered by experts with success stories from the business coal-face. We’ll explore some bigger issues too – including Bristol’s lead on Creative Technology, and the power of having a diverse workforce.
Again, booking for each individual session is essential via Eventbrite.
