Bath Digital Festival
Tickets are now available for the Bath Digital Festival, running Monday 27th October to Wednesday 5th Nov 2014.
This 10-day collection of digital and technology events, based in various locations around the city of Bath, aims to educate and inspire all who attend.
There's something for everyone, whether you're a designer, developer, marketing manager or social media bod. You might not even work in the sector, but are interested in keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and technology.
There's even the Digital Skills Day for young people looking to start their career in digital.
Following the theme of ‘Digital for Good’, (or ‘Bad’ if that’s your preference), here are just some of the events that tickets have been released for:
Smashing Front End Boot Camp - Monday 27th October
Smashing’s very first Front End Bootcamp; a brand new format for them, which they think you’re going to love. They understand that taking several days out of the office for a conference is not an option for many, and so for the first time ever, Smashing are offering a super-compact, super-practical one day alternative!
Web Day - Tuesday 28th October
With 8 talks and 2 workshops on the modern web, this action-packed day offers developers and non-developers alike an opportunity to be educated, informed, and empowered, on everything from SEO to NoSQL databases, web accessibility to cutting-edge CMSs.
Ignite is a global event where participants are given five minutes to speak about their ideas and personal or professional passions, accompanied by twenty slides. Each slide is displayed for fifteen seconds, and slides are automatically advanced, meaning talks are fast-paced and engaging.
A fascinating and informative discussion. Join us to find out how Auroch Digital have been turning news into games, how Knowle West Media Center used games to talk about domestic violence and accessibility expert Ian Hamilton on how technology can be built to open them up to wider audiences.
Join children’s television presenter, Naomi Wilkinson (Naomi’s Nightmares of Nature, Marrying Mum and Dad, WILD!) at a showcase of live demonstrations, behind-the-scenes films and interviews which will highlight the talent behind the nominations from actors to animators, designers to directors. This one's for 7-12 year olds and is sure to be a lot of fun!
What better venue to celebrate Halloween than the fabulously atmospheric Chapel Arts Centre. Come along and celebrate the Halloween spirit with the digital group "The Vile Electrodes" - featuring analogues synthesisers, fetish wear and Ballardian imagery - Fabulous!!
And much much more...
The full programme, jam-packed with 10 days of events, is available on the 2014 Bath Digital Festival website.
