MOTION and Yorkshire Tea's Grand Depart
MOTION Experiential worked with Yorkshire Tea, the official Tea Partner of Le Grand Départ to promote their involvement with the Tour De France. To celebrate the tour coming to the UK, Yorkshire Tea deployed an exciting cycling challenge at Paddington Station 3rd July, Liverpool Street Station 4th July and Victoria Station in London 7th July.
The campaign asked commuters “Are you King of the Morning?”. To test this out, commuters were asked to challenge themselves for two minutes to cycle as far as possible, on a state of the art Watt Bike. For this grand effort, participants were then rewarded with a personalised Yorkshire Tea ‘Teaontour’ mug with their own face printed on to take home. On top of this, as a bonus, a specially designed Yorkshire Tea cycling t-shirt was given out to the 10 people who cycled the furthest each day, proving themselves to be King of the Morning.
However, the freebies weren’t just limited to the people that took the challenge, as the team also distributed limited edition Tour De France Yorkshire Tea sample boxes from the stand.
Over the three promotional days, thousands of people visited the stand, over 500 cyclists received a Yorkshire Tea mug with their face printed on it and 330,000 tea bags were given away.
MOTION worked with the Metro Newspaper to produce and activate the campaign for Yorkshire.
