Bristol based MOTION are proud to have worked with MEC Global to unleash a Monster weekend at the Marriott London Sevens.  MOTION developed and produced all aspect of Marriott’s experiential activations across one monster weekend of Rugby Sevens at Twickenham Stadium.

The MOTION team created and installed the Marriott Travel Brilliantly hub in the fan's village. The activity hub included the Marriott Travel Brilliantly bus and chill out area, with a real grass rugby pitch. As well as a place to relax and enjoy the brilliant entertainment on offer, the Marriott hub also provided fans with free massages, the opportunity to meet the England players and win monster themed rugby balls via a Watt Bike Challenge. The MOTION team also installed a photo booth with a giant monster England player avatar.  Fans were then invited to have a photo taken with the avatar and by sharing the photo with their friends on Facebook and Twitter they could win holidays at Marriott hotels. The Marriott hub was a monster success and the centre for lots of monster fun and frolics over the weekend.

The MOTION team also deployed Marriott Travel Brilliantly meeting points around the stadium. Each meeting point offered free WI-FI and a place for fans to charge their phones. The meeting points also included two England player avatars and a photo booth, so there were lots more opportunities around the ground for fans to take part in the Marriott photo social sharing competition.

The MOTION team produced and delivered all the elements of the Marriott hub and meeting points included all Marriott branding.  MOTION also provided event management and security throughout the weekend, a 35 strong promotional and event team to work across the activities on each of the event days.  MOTION produced the uniforms, deployed the photo booths, installed WI-FI beacons around the ground and provided technical support, distributed 4,000 bottles of water to refresh the fans, installed and de-rigged all the kit, provided event photography and delivered a lot more.

With over one hundred thousand rugby fans attending the event, it was one huge weekend and a monster success all round.  To see photos from the campaign visit MOTION Experiential’s Facebook page.
