To promote the Marriott London Rugby Sevens event and the Marriott?s Travel Brilliantly campaign, MOTION Experiential have worked with MEC Global to activate a Twitter Hunt for the England Rugby team across iconic locations in London.

The 2014 HSBC Sevens World Series is well underway and tournaments have already taken place in Australia, Dubai, USA, New Zealand, Japan and Hong Kong. The Marriott London Sevens is the ninth and final tournament and promises to be full of excitement, drama, great rugby and plenty of monster shenanigans.

The England Sevens team is calling on fans to show their support and join them for a Monster weekend of fun and rugby at Twickenham Stadium for the Marriott London Sevens on May the 10th-11th.

To promote the Marriott London Rugby Sevens event and the Marriott’s Travel Brilliantly campaign, MOTION Experiential have worked with MEC Global to activate a Twitter Hunt for the England Rugby team across iconic locations in London.

The locations where the England players could be met were released on Twitter along with a code word. The locations for the Twitter Hunt included; Pottersfield opposite Tower Bridge, One New Change Shopping Centre with the backdrop of the magnificent St Paul’s Cathedral and Canary Wharf Station in the heart of Canary Wharf. The first person to meet the players at the pop up Marriott fan zones and state the code won VIP tickets to the London Rugby Sevens.

The Marriott Travel Brilliantly hospitality bus was stationed at Canary Wharf during the day, where the players performed a meet and great, signed merchandise and demonstrated their rugby skills. People were also invited to play a rugby speed pass challenge to win even more great rugby prizes. The team also offered people the opportunity to buy tickets to the Twickenham event there and then.

The campaign was a great success creating loads of social media buzz. All the signs suggest that this year’s Marriott Rugby Sevens will beat 2013 sales record of 113,000 tickets sold across the two day event.

MOTION Experiential will be working with MEC Global to activate fan based experiences around the Twickenham Stadium on the 10th & 11th May. The experiential activation will include: deployment of the Marriott Travel Brilliantly hospitality bus and creation of a Travel Brilliantly chill out area, Travel Brilliantly Meeting Points with phone charging points, Free WI-FI for all the fans, face painters, water bottle giveaway, installation of photo-booths and giant monster avatars to allow fans to enter a monster themed Facebook competition to win Marriott holidays and lots, lots more…
