Launch of new marketing group brings Bristol Media and The Chartered Institute of Marketing together

Bristol Media is reaching out to marketers in the South West with the launch of a dedicated marketing group to be known as The South West Marketing Group

Bristol Media is reaching out to marketers in the South West through its own marketing sector group with the launch of a dedicated marketing group to be known as The South West Marketing Group.

As an initiative between Bristol Media and CIM South West, the new Group (SWMG) is aiming to support and develop relationships between marketing professionals in the South West region across client side, consultants and agency planners as well as serving as the dedicated marketing sector group at Bristol Media.

The Group is being led by a policy team of senior marketers from across the South West region and is now actively working with CIM South West and Bristol Media to engage marketers.

Jonnie Galvin-Wright heads up the Group. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Marketing Sector Head at Bristol Media and is MD at Stuff Advertising in Bristol. Working with him already to bring SWMG to market are Luan Wise (CIM Chair of Bristol and West and Gloucestershire), senior marketers from academia (UWE/ Bristol Business School), leading brands (IBM and Bristol News and Media) as well as key marketers and planners from prominent marketing and advertising agencies.

Jonnie says, “The Group aims to showcase and drive the very best national marketing strategy and practice in the South West region for the benefit of the regional economy as a whole. But it is also about engaging with fellow marketers.

“Our research indicated that there is demand in the market for two needs: very senior and high-level marketer events and senior peer to peer networking, and also, in our role as the Marketing Sector Group of Bristol Media, there is the need to engage more with members of Bristol Media, CIM South West and marketers throughout the South West region as a whole. We are therefore in the process of looking at ways of delivering in both of these areas and hope to announce some events and initiatives soon”.
