Sizzling entertainment with Grillstock this summer
The UK’s hottest BBQ and music festival, Grillstock is back for 2013 with two sizzling events coming to Bristol and Manchester, combining a low ‘n’ slow barbeque competition with international music, a cooking academy, unique craft beer bar and now legendary chilli eating and rib eating competitions. Original Music, Meat and Mayhem!
Grillstock festival will return to Bristol’s harbourside 11th and 12th May as well as making its debut in Manchester’s Albert Square, 8th and 9th June.
This festival is THE destination for anyone that loves real tasty food with the chance to watch and sample food from competitors in ‘King Of The Grill’, a huge two-day US style ‘low and slow’ BBQ competition to a fantastic soundtrack of Deep South beats. Winners over the weekend win a trip to the US to compete in the prestigious American Royal Invitational in Kansas to compete against the best of the best. Get involved with the now legendary Chilli-Eating Competition as well as the mouth-watering rib-Eating competition and the informative and entertaining BBQ academy.
Along with this musical feast, festival goers can wash world class competition standard BBQ down at one of the three Brooklyn brewery bars, promising some of the best craft beers shipped specially from the US.
Grillstock Bristol: 11th and 12th May 2013
Twenty six teams will battle it out in Bristol over the smoky coals with thousands of visitors interacting with the teams, tasting the food and experiencing their passion and enthusiasm for authentic barbecue. Master of ceremonies will be celebrity US pit-master Dr BBQ (aka Ray Lampe) who will oversee the judging for the weekend.
This great barbecue celebration will be accompanied by a top class music line up of Americana roots music headlined by Kitty Daisy & Lewis. They will be joined by Tennessee born singer songwriter and Southern Belle Valerie June with her own brand of organic moonshine roots music, beautifully showcased in her Dan Auerbach (Black Keys) produced album ‘You Can’t Be Told’(out this March). For a touch of Americana meets Indie, Ha Ha Tonka will also take to the stage in Bristol as well as local stars The Redhillbillies who will open the stage on Saturday.
