Job description

You’ll have a good awareness of the automotive marketing arena, keeping up with latest trends and insight where possible, as well as jumping at the opportunity to learn more from additional training. You will want to bring new ideas to innovate and improve what we do at the moment and be solutions focused and proactive at all times. You will build on this in order to be able to consult with Retailers on marketing activity, which channels are most appropriate, and what creative message should be presented etc., sharing knowledge and insight with BMW Group clients, colleagues and the wider Retailer Marketing team as appropriate.


- Build and maintain a full working knowledge and understanding of all BMW Group in-market programmes and national activity to ensure these are actively promoted throughout the Retailer network, ensuring optimal take-up and deployment specifically where focus activity is mandated (e.g. BMW PHEV, 8 and M plus Q4 launch event and MINI Electric activity in 2020)

- Proactive out and inbound assigned Retailer engagement including advice, query management and project management of Retailer marketing activity aligned to meet national and Retailer specific objectives 

-  Proactively work with assigned Retailers to ensure Marketing Planner interrogation against targets, model split, leads and conversion metrics etc., and achieve 100% full completion, validated against key objectives and KPI’s, including the deployment of national campaign or editable template assets as appropriate 

- Maintain a daily and weekly individual assigned Retailer activity/interaction log to support client reporting requirements

- Day to day interaction with the BMW Group Retailer Performance Centre, providing support including gathering, sharing and providing information, insight and analysis, reporting etc., as requested

- Proactive initiation and project management of more in-depth/complex Retailer briefs from start to finish providing strategic advice 

- Thorough understanding of BMW Group Brand Identity guidelines and compliance process including bonus performance elements in order to fully support Retailers and manage compliance checks; ensuring meeting agreed SLA’s and compilation and delivery of the weekly/monthly client reporting 

- Undertake proactive research for Retailer activity using the Audience Insight Tool and Campaign Reporting Dashboard and additional tools as applicable 

- Research and prepare activity documentation, analysis and reports

- Oversee and prepare cost estimates, project schedules, budgets and timelines ensuring adherence to SLAs as applicable

- Manage in conjunction with the team Account Manager, internal team resource and third-parties as applicable

- Assist the front-line AE’s and team Account Manager in scheduling resource time effectively and adherence to internal processes to support delivery to the highest standard

- Carry out administration as required, including but not limited to note taking, booking meetings and drafting agendas, monthly report compilation and provision, etc.

- Support and liaison to ensure relevant systems are up to date with project information 

- Support the wider Retailer Marketing Service team, gathering and sharing insight and information as appropriate and take on ad-hoc tasks/reporting etc., in support where required

Person specification

- Proactive, demonstrates initiative and self-motivation

- Passionate about working with BMW Group as a premium Automotive brand

- 2-3 years minimum experience working in digital environment (agency or client side)

- Understands the importance of consistent Brand Identity 

- Automotive, Retailer and/or Channel marketing experience

- Able to build trust and confidence within the team/wider team and Retailer/Client environment through a considered, collaborative and solution-oriented approach

- Demonstrates ownership of problems/issues (even if not within own remit/knowledge or skill set) providing resolution and involving other team members as appropriate to support

- Ability to interrogate marketing activity against objectives/KPI’s and provide considered and credible advice and support

- Excellent attention to detail

- Demonstrates commercial awareness and proactive tracking/control of all ongoing Retailer activity
