Job description

This role will lead a small team of strategists to create outstanding marketing and campaign strategies for one of Zone’s most ambitious and major clients. This involves identifying business goals and objectives, developing strategic insights and briefs, qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation, and the creation of multi-channel marketing and campaign plans based on this analysis. 

  • Audience and marketplace insight:Responsible for the design and execution of research into audiences, both online and offline, and the marketplace within which our client operates. This could include audience personas, competitor and business research, digital and media behaviours, influencer partnerships and channel preferences. Who is the target audience, what do they care about and what will drive them to act? 
  • Digital-first marketing strategy:Defining the strategy, objectives and briefs for projects, working with other teams to develop ideas in response to those briefs, and selling those ideas to clients. 
  • Campaign planning and distribution: Architecting plans across owned, earned and paid media and all available online/offline channels that optimise against audience engagement and ultimately brand and sales objectives. 
  • Evaluation and effectiveness:Work with the data to create the right frameworks for objectives, KPIs, measurement and self-service reporting, using this data as insight for improving existing and upcoming work, and ensure that our clients have confidence in our work. 
  • Client relationships:Deepen the agency’s relationships with key clients, at times owning client relationships. Seek and work with the team to convert growth and new business opportunities. Become a partner that can advise and coach clients to move toward smarter, more effective and digitally led marketing. 
  • Team: Coach and oversee the work of a small team of strategists to ensure their work is effective and insight-driven.

Person specification

  • At least seven years’ experience in marketing and communications, with a strong knowledge of digitally led campaigns. 
  • Exceptional team player with the confidence and integrity to earn client and internal team confidence quickly.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, communication and consensus-building skills. 
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply both a rigorous analytical approach and a dynamic, abstract approach.
  • Passion for, and knowledge of, technology, emerging media and the internet.
