Job description

Epoch Design has been the sore thumb of Queen Square for 27 years now. Raising eyebrows of solicitors to the left of us, causing concern of accountants to the right – but, really, secretly, envied by all for our creativity, culture and the good vibes emanating from our agency buildings.

As a Strategic and Creative Partner for some of the world’s biggest FMCG brands, we’ve got a client list to be damn proud of and one that’s continually expanding. Combine that with an almost obsessive attitude to our culture, when we look for a new Conceptual Copywriter to join the Epoch Creative core team, it’s understandably a pretty big day for us.

It's a bit of an understatement to say 2019 is turning out to be a bit of a beast here at Epoch. Our project streams have become increasingly focussed on building brands from scratch, breathing new life into existing ones, integrated campaign concepting off the back of our own 'blue sky thinking' for the big idea.... And all this alongside our more traditional packaging and activation briefs. 

Co-creation workshops with clients on the continent have also become a regular occurrence, so we can safely say that our current Copywriting team has officially reached capacity (and some). 

And so the search begins to bring in an additional Epoch wordsmith with that special something to help us bulk up the expanding Creative Teams of Copywriters and Art Directors, as much as working on pure copy briefs.

The perfect candidate will be an impassioned Middle Weight Conceptual Copywriter with a varied, relevant (our world is all about FMCG brands) and - most importantly - exciting portfolio of compelling and inspirational copy! 

A natural story-teller with attention to detail, you will be as comfortable campaign concepting, participating in brand naming workshops or creating a script for a TVC, as you will proofreading a 40-page presentation. But more of the former and less of the latter to be honest. We kind of presume that requires 4 years of industry experience already under your belt, but feel free to amaze us if you have achieved that level of experience quicker.

Most of all, the propensity for thinking creatively as well as strategically, and a willingness to present your work to both colleagues and clients is king. Epoch's agency life is a hugely dynamic and challenging place to be, but it’s incredibly rewarding... and we can guarantee no two days will be the same.

Needless to say, natural charisma is a prerequisite and you’ll be dying to get involved with all of our shenanigans. We're friends as much as colleagues here and newbies need to be ready to join the fun loving (not criminal) agency crew.
