Job description

A passionate CX and digital leader, you will be responsible for managing the growth and revenue performance of one of Zone’s business units alongside a Business Director. This could be built around a single client, or portfolio of clients, amounting to c. £10m to £15m of revenues. You will lead the commercial and growth vision for the business unit and drive your clients’ business forward through innovative CX work that delivers top line value. You will help lead a team of account management and 60+ digital experts, inspiring groundbreaking work and encouraging clients to think ambitiously. You will drive client growth and revenue, identify and drive new business opportunities within these clients and look beyond to support new business activities to help expand your portfolio.

 

As one of the most senior and respected individuals in the agency, you will be an ambassador for Zone, as well as a major contributor to the culture of the agency.

 

Main responsibilities

Client growth, relationship building and management

  • Grow, develop and manage all aspects of the relationship between Zone and your portfolio of clients
  • Develop a detailed understanding of your clients’ businesses, CX imperatives, marketing objectives, customer segments etc within your portfolio. Understand their industry, competitors, market pressures and incorporate this thinking into Zone’s strategic approach/plan to grow and respond to the client
  • Ensure we are cross-selling/upselling our service propositions (where relevant) and creating new ones where appropriate
  • Build key influential relationships with the core decision makers (C-Suite), influencers and stakeholders (e.g. procurement), whereby they trust and value your opinions, seek advice on their business and marketing issues. Make sure we are the ‘first people’ they call when they need support, provide leadership and counsel to them
  • Continually monitor client relationships and satisfaction within your portfolio and immediately address client concerns, ensuring a quick resolution and transparency through communications

 

Leadership and management

  • Partner with the Business Director to properly structure a growth, delivery and leadership team within the business unit. Motivate the team to work collectively for the success of the group and ultimately Zone
  • Motivate, inspire and empower your cross-functional digital team to spot opportunities, see beyond challenges, drive forward opportunities and deliver to the highest possible standard
  • Sell Zone core service propositions, identify other opportunity areas for both Zone and Cognizant, and where relevant create new streams of revenue and service lines
  • Ensure that your client teams have the right skills required to meet your clients’ and our business objectives
  • Lead pitches and new business development within your group – build a growth focused team that is commercially successful
  • Take cultural responsibility for group and the wider agency

 

Commercial management

  • Relentlessly drive topline revenue growth and portfolio diversification
  • Maintain accurate and timely revenue forecast
  • Continually identify and drive new business opportunities across your portfolio of clients to grow revenues

 

Strategy, innovation and thought leadership

  • Consistently challenge the work produced for clients within your portfolio to ensure that all options have been explored and that the best solution has been found, as opposed to the easiest
  • Continually challenge your clients’ thinking to ensure the best briefs are presented to the agency
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in all of your interactions with clients

Person specification

  • Entrepreneurial with proven track record of driving growth in a similar senior role in a CX/digital agency
  • Exceptional client relationship and management skills with the proven ability to build and lead senior client engagement, to add value and to drive revenue from existing accounts
  • Proven ability to identify and drive new business opportunities
  • Strong understanding of accurate forecasting and P&L management
  • Experience of inspiring and motivating a cross-functional team, driving culture and positive working environment
  • Presence, credibility and gravitas; an inspirational leader, who can act as a role model for your team and ultimately your clients
