Wildscreen Festival - The world's leading international festival celebrating and advancing storytelling about the natural world
Where: Various venues, Bristol,
When: 10 October 2016 9:00am to 14 October 2016 6:00pm
Wildscreen will once again welcome the wildlife film and photography industry to the vibrant city of Bristol. For over 30 years our prestigious Festival has been convening and celebrating the world's best natural world storytellers.
Through collaboration with our ever-growing community of filmmakers, photographers, broadcasters, technologists and conservation organisations we aim to transform the craft of natural world storytelling across platforms and across audiences, ensuring as many people as possible experience the natural world, feel part of it and want to help protect it.
Transformative visual storying will be at the heart of Wildscreen 2016. With half the world’s population living in urban areas, the festival will challenge how and where people experience the natural world. There will be sessions and guest speakers exploring issues of diversity within the industry, an analysis of how to use imagery to create powerful storytelling with no dialogue and how films make a difference and taking a look into why. We will be going back to the future with a Wildscreen time capsule, and look into the future with virtual reality and 360 sound. Putting cameras on trial and meeting commissioners will also be on the agenda, as well as glancing across the pond at Hollywood to explore how it is representing natural history. We won’t be forgetting music and the composers who create such a key part of any film.
Prices vary from £495 for full access to the Festival from 10-14 October 2016 which will include talks and sessions, film screenings, taster workshops as well as social events and parties to £125 for each day. Please note that tickets for the Panda Awards ceremony are sold separately.
