Bristol Film & TV | BFTV networking closing event.

Where: Watershed, Watershed 1 Canons Road, Harbourside, Bristol BS1 5TX, BS1 5TX

When: 27 June 2016 6:00pm to 8:00pm

BFTV is a seven-month research project that investigates film and television industries in Bristol. Despite its reputation and significance, Bristol’s film and television industries have yet to be subject to any in-depth research or analysis. As a result, there is a major dearth of information about the sector, the companies that compose it and the freelance community with which they work. This project aims to address that gap by creating a map of film and television production in Bristol and generating concrete data about it: who is involved and how? What is its cultural and economic value to the city? What are the relationships and networks that underpin it? What challenges does it face?

Bristol Film and TV is a HEIF-funded research project being undertaken by UWE Bristol. The project is led by researchers in the Centre for Moving Image Research at the University of the West of England Bristol (UWE), and is being conducted with the following partners: Bristol Royal Television Society, Bristol Media, Creative England, Creative Skillset, Bristol Film Office and Watershed.

We are conducting two surveys – one for companies and one for freelancers – and will be carrying out a series of interviews throughout the project. Everyone who fills in the survey will receive free entry to our closing event at Watershed on 27 June at 6pm, as well as the chance to win a ‘Spa & Dine for Two’ voucher at Lido Bristol. We hope to see you there.

Entry Cost: Free entry for the ones who fill in the survey!
