Research Media fundraising event for global children's charity Plan UK
Research Media raises money for Charity every year. This year our chosen charity is Plan Uk and to kick start our fundraising efforts, we launched an Apprentice Style Challenge in January where three of the directors (Caroline Herbert, John Eggleton and Janine Burr-Willans) are leading teams in a competition to raise the most money possible. The teams have come up with a range of actitives from cake sales, car washes through to nail painting, sponsored hair removal and artwork creation.
Our efforts are going to culminate in a fundraiser from 7pm on January 28th at Pata Negra. Thanks to the genorosity of Nathan Lee (one of the owners of Pata Negra) and others including Hotel Du Vin, David Lloyd and Beau Monde, we look set to put on an amazing evening.Tickets cost £5 but there is a free drink on arrival, DJ entertainment, reduced priced cocktails all night and a fantastic auction/raffle.
Prizes include Sunday Lunch for Four at The Ox with wine, Dinner for Two at Hotel Du Vin with wine, 2 x two week family memberships at David Lloyd, Zatchel Satchel, £600 Tooth Whitening Treatment, Reflexology and Indian Head Massage from Equlibrium Life and lots more!
This event is open to everyone with tickets sold on a first come, first served basis. Raffle tickets can be bought in advance or on the night. If you are interested in coming along, helping a good cause and seeing January out in style, please contact Caroline Herbert at email@example.com
To encourage you to attend, here is a little bit more about the incredible work Plan UK undertake. Research Media had the opportunity to vote from a short-listed number of charities and this was the clear winner.
Plan UK is a global children’s charity. They work with children in the world’s poorest countries to help them build a better future. For over 75 years they have been taking action and standing up for every child’s right to fulfil their potential by:
- Giving children a healthy start in life, including access to safe drinking water
- Securing the education of girls and boys
- Working with communities to prepare for and survive disasters
- Inspiring children to take a lead in decisions that affect their lives
- Enabling families to earn a living and plan for their children’s future.
They run a flagship campaign which focusses on education for girls called ‘Because I am a Girl’. Across the globe, girls’ rights are threatened by poverty, gender inequality, violence, poor education, unfair policies, ingrained attitudes, conflict and disasters. Plan UK speaks out in support of every girl’s right to live safe from violence, to go to school, to take key roles in their communities, to marry who they want when they want and to have their voices heard.
Please help us to make a difference
