CineMe Shorts - Screening of Watch Over Me With a Q&A With Director Simon Pearce
Where: Tobacco Factory Cafe Bar, Raleigh Road, Bedminster, Bristol,, BS3 1TF
When: 28 April 2015 8:00pm to 10:30pm
It's that time of the month again... Another CineMe Shorts... And yet again an evening filled with an interesting variety of short films. Films made locally, nationally and internationally, from some of the most interesting filmmakers working in short film.
This month our headline film is director Simon Pearce's Watch Over Me, which was filmed in Bristol using local actors and crew. The film combines crime and action to tell the story of a mysterious drifter, who is offered one last shot at redemption when he crosses paths with a local woman trapped by her dark past. The screening will be followed by an audience Q&A with Simon Pearce, who will be talking about the making of the film, whilst also discussing his work on other short films and features.
Other shorts being screened in April include:-
Jack Ralls Edward's Request, which is set during World War 2, when a visitor comes calling during an air raid to deliver a letter from the front line. The stranger has an interesting story to tell that will change their lives forever!
Iris Grob's intriguing documentary We and the Wolves. The film looks at the complicated relationship between Dutch society and nature, questioning if we should be afraid of the wolf, or should we let nature takes its course?
The U.S. comedy Leonard In Slow Motion. A film about a man, who exists in slow motion and decides he must somehow change in order to win over the woman who is his office crush.
Plus... We have offerings from CineMe team member Jeff Notton with his black-and-white comedy Painting Pains, a homage to the slapstick silent films made by Laurel and Hardy and Charlie Chaplin. The brilliant Danny and the Wild Bunch, which mixes CG animation and live action. Together with a little surprise... A screening of an acclaimed, award winning animation.
CineMe Shorts starts at 8pm in the 'Green Room' in the main bar. However, please arrive before the start time as we have limited seating (60 full capacity). Tickets available on the door only, no advance sales.
