This November we are delighted to present amazing talks from Dr Rich Wain-Hobson and his medical journey from Cornwall to Cape Town!
In October 2012, three doctors left their jobs, friends, and local sea shanty group, and set out on an adventure that took them closer to ruin than they had ever been in their lives. Armed with a rusty old Defender and minimal experience, they bounced out of the Cornish village where they live and drove south.
9 months, 30 countries, 21,792 miles, and 19 punctures later, and they found themselves in Cape Town, elated, amazed that they had actually made it. Along the way they had even managed to volunteer in a Ugandan hospital, help with international medical research in Malawi, and narrowly avoid being shot in Kenya. Come and hear Dr Rich Wain-Hobson tell their story at Explorers Connect, and find out how even the most unlikely people can find extraordinary adventure!
Entry Cost: £4 to include a drink
