CineMe Shorts - Short Film Showcase & Networking

Back by popular demand and featuring 14 short films, made by emerging filmmaking talent from Bristol and around the globe.

For five years CineMe has provided new filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their films to an audience. Our monthly CineMe Shorts events take place every last Tuesday of the month at the Tobacco Factory Bar. CineMe screen short film animations, drama, documentary and music videos, offering a Bristol flavour and introducing audiences to the makers of the films. Our screenings are aimed at film lovers, budding filmmakers and people wanting to discover a different movie going experience outside of mainstream cinema.

CineMe Shorts takes place on April 29th and this months highlights include:

The U.S. drama Side Effected which centres around a meeting between the boss of a pharmaceutical company and one of his upstart young employees.

The stunning science fiction short Prospect about a teenage girl and her father, who hunt for precious materials on a toxic alien planet.

The 2014 BAFTA winning short Room 8 about a prisoner who discovers a magical box with a baneful secret that he falls foul to.

Animation Dogshaped from BAFTA winner Emma Lazenby (Mother of Many), together with films from the Animation Workshop, the documentary Hearing In the Bardo (Isaac Jack McCardle), the sci-fi drama Culling (Barry Wilkinson), Bar Scene and One Man, Eight Cameras (Naren Wilks), the animation Stickman (Jack Bennett), and The Hangman's Waltz (Owen Benson).

The evening will also include an audience vote (where you can rate each film), together with a prize draw raffle with DVDs, books, CD's and movie memorabilia up for grabs. There will also be networking in the bar after all the short films have been shown.

CineMe Shorts starts at 8pm in the "Green Room."
