Alice in Wonderland + The Mad Hatter's Magic Tea Party

Where: Watershed, 1 Canon's Road, Harbourside, Bristol, BS1 5TX

When: 19 October 2013 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Modern Gothic master Tim Burton's visual riot of adventure and fantasy is a superb reimagining of Lewis Carroll's classic story. 19-year-old Alice takes another tumble down the rabbit hole to the magical world she has faint memories of visiting as a young girl, where she reunites with her friends the White Rabbit, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Cheshire Cat and, of course, the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp).

After the film all the family can take their seats at the Mad Hatter's Magic Tea Party where things get curiouser and curiouser.

Our marvellous Magicians in Residence, Kieron Kirkland and Stuart Noland, as well as young magician Rishi, will wow you with modern tricks and illusions.

Make your own Jabberwocky and JubJub bird creations with artist Nikki Pugh and shrink like Alice as you watch magic short films in the Miniature Cinema and race tiny toys with Opposable Games, who'll be bringing along their ingenious Clockwork Racers.

You'll also be able to animate your very own adventure in Wonderland in super stop motion and get your family's photo taken with the cheeky Cheshire Cat, and of course - there'll be tea, coffee, cakes and sandwiches that even the Queen of Hearts would approve of!

Film + Tea Party ticket price: £4.00 per child / £6.00 adults (must be accompanied by a child). Suitable for ages 5+. Please note the film is rated a PG (Parental Guidance) meaning parents will need to decide whether the film is suitable for their child as it may contain some scenes that younger children could find scary.

Looking for more adventures this month? Our half term family film Justin and The Knights of Valour is set in medieval Europe and sees a young boy embark on a quest to become a Knight of Valour and follow in his grandfather's chivalrous footsteps. With an all-star voice cast and animation in sparkling 3D, this is an action-packed fairy tale that is sure to enchant audiences of all ages.

Presented by Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio as part of The Family Arts Festival and BFI Gothic.
