Afrika Eye returns to Watershed with a three-day programme of film screenings, director talks, debates and entertainment - all from, or with roots in, Africa. Among this year's guest speakers will be director Alain Gomis (Senegal/France) introducing the regional premiere of his latest film TEY, starring the actor, musician and poet Saul Williams. Other premieres include NAIROBI HALF LIFE - described by one reviewer as "an amalgam of MR SMITH GOES TO WASHINGON and SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE" - and Simon Bright's documentary about Africa's last absolute monarch, the king of Swaziland.
