Social media offers huge potential for creative businesses to spread word-of-mouth about a product or service, find new customers and increase sales (both locally and globally) through online engagement. This half-day course will appeal to creative entrepreneurs and local business owners who would like to know how to create real value for their business using social media. Topics covered will include: - The benefits and pitfalls of social media for a creative local business - What platforms are available and how they can be used - Creating a social media strategy (when, where and how to engage) - Customer service in a social world Format: Presentation and Q&A, followed by group work Aims/Objectives To offer local business owners an understanding on how social media engagement can help their business grow Audience Local freelancers and small businesses, with a focus on the creative sector Instructor Bio Alexei Lee is Director of Bristol-based social media consultancy React.Adapt. Alexei has been creating social media strategies and digital marketing campaigns for over 10 years working with global brands, box office hits, book publishers, charities, record labels and web start-ups amongst many others.
