Pervasive Media Studio Lunchtime Talk: Mercurial Wrestler introduce Magna Mysteria

Where: The Pervasive Media Studio, Watershed, 1 Canon's Road, BS1 5TX

When: 18 November 2011 1:00pm to 2:00pm

Mercurial Wrestler joined the Studio in 2010 as part of our Artists Residencies scheme. Whilst here they worked on The Magician's Desk, a project which used pervasive media to recreate the magic and intrigue of Victorian illusions. Magna Mysteria is Mercurial Wrestler's current project, a large-scale site-responsive performance which will be premiered at Mayfest, 2012. The piece will use site-based performance, cutting edge pervasive media and publicity techniques to create a unique narrative journey. The piece will be developed here in the Studio during 2011/12. In this talk Jay Kerry and Becca Gill, founders of Mercurial Wrestler, will introduce the project, explain how they've developed the techniques used in The Magician's Desk, and describe their plans. Join us in welcoming them back to the Studio. Magna Mysteria is funded by Arts Council England, and was commissioned by Bristol Old Vic and Bristol City Council???s Neighbourhood Arts Team. The Pervasive Media Studio and Theatre Bristol are working in partnership with Mercurial Wrestler to deliver the project. This will be one of our first talks in the new Pervasive Media Studio space, within the Watershed building. Please enquire at the Watershed box office for directions. This Lunchtime Talk is part of Open Studio Friday, which takes place at the Studio every week Do you want to find out what is going on at the Pervasive Media Studio?
