Tech leader joins Bristol Media board

We are delighted to announce that we have appointed technology entrepreneur Dominic Mills to our board of directors.

Mills, chief technology officer at Zone, a digital agency with clients including Aviva, Electrolux, Stagecoach and Maersk, brings with him 20 years of experience in the tech sector.

Chris Thurling, Bristol Media’s chairman, said: “Digital is a common thread that opens up both challenges and opportunities to all our members, no matter what discipline. Dominic joining the board will bring valuable experience and a digital perspective that will strengthen our leadership team and benefit our members.”

After starting his career at a global IT player, in 2001 Dominic founded Auros, a Bristol-based digital agency specialising in tech build. His start-up built a reputation for delivering large-scale, technically complex digital projects for clients such as the NHS, Swinton Insurance and Virgin Media Business. Auros was acquired by Zone in 2013, leading to Dominic joining the agency’s executive team.

Mills added: “Bristol has a strong creative, design and TV heritage which has been invigorated with an equally strong digital community and thriving start up scene. Industry hubs like Bristol Media cultivate a vibrant, knowledge-sharing culture that bridges the realms of technology and creativity – and I am proud to say that Zone is a part of that.

Bristol Media is an industry led organisation, whose primary role is to facilitate collaboration and growth within the region, delivering projects, events and opportunities for over 600 paying members and driving creativity and innovation across the south west creative and media sector.  The flagship event Vision takes place on 14th November at Bristol’s Anson Rooms and will bring together thought leaders from across the globe to discuss the future of the creative sector.
