McCann reveals it was behind Lib Dem campaign ad

A volunteer team from McCann Bristol and Birmingham is behind the creative for a new poster campaign for the Liberal Democrats – the first regional agency to handle a major election campaign. Launched on Saturday, the 48-sheet is the first in a series of McCann executions the LibDems used in the run up to the 2017 general election to engage their target audience of ‘concerned remainers’.

The poster merges Theresa May and Nigel Farage’s faces, along with copy reading ‘Vote her, get him’.

Jon Elsom, Group Creative Director, comments: “The Liberal Democrats were looking for a visually arresting way to connect with ‘concerned remainers’ – a group that’s worried about what deal a Conservative-led Brexit would actually result in. Alluding to UKIP in the creative reminds this audience of the ‘hard Brexit’ that many remainers are anxious to avoid.”
