Vision Keynote with Amy Sawbridge, Head of People Strategy, Virgin Group

Published on Wednesday, 26th April 2017

"Companies have multiple opportunities to connect with future talent. People are no longer pigeon-holed into categories of employee, customer, consumer, etc. In the same way that companies can no longer separate out their consumer and employer brands, future talent is about the whole person and people being their true selves."

Join us and Amy Sawbridge, Head of People Strategy at Virgin Group for this Vision Keynote on Thursday 11th May at OVO, 1 Rivergate, Bristol BS1 6JX from 6-8pm

Amy leads the People Strategy team at Virgin Group. She works closely with the People teams in all of the Virgin companies across the globe, which are responsible for employing over 68,000 people. People Strategy works hand in glove with Virgin Group’s brand and investment teams, reflecting the vital role that Virgin people play in the overall Virgin brand experience.

The team ensures that Virgin is changing business for good through its culture, and continues to be a world leading employer.

During her time at Virgin Group, Amy has built a powerful collective of Virgin People experts; led a global project to define the ‘essence’ of great Virgin leadership; transformed multiple regionalised, generic employee discount schemes into one strategic global asset to engage, reward and enable the Virgin employee community; as well as supporting M&A activity to ensure new companies embrace the Virgin way.

Previously Amy worked for Virgin Media where she was Senior Strategic Business Partner for the product, commercial, brand and marketing teams. She also worked as part of the Talent team to develop their talent management framework and leadership development initiatives. Prior to her Virgin career, Amy worked in the not-for-profit sector.

Session Overview

Your internal brand is more than a catch phrase; it should represent who you are and what you do. To succeed, internal branding efforts must be consistent with external branding but all too often they operate in silos. Amy believes your internal and external brand are two sides of the same coin and with the increased transparency that exists in this hyper-connected world, employers need to be much more mindful that the culture and experience that they create for their employees has to be congruent with what they’re positioning externally to their customers. Amy will discuss how Virgin aligns the internal and external brand to allow employees to deliver an authentic and therefore a superior customer experience.
