Due to the success of our Events and Venue Hire business we are now looking to add to our Events Team with this appointment, which would be an ideal first step for somebody looking for a career in the events industry. Reporting to the Venue Manager you will be responsible for assisting in the smooth running of all non-raceday events that take place at Bath Racecourse, you will also have responsibility for the administration of bookings and the selling of the venue to clients. Line Management The position will report to the Venue Manager. Working Hours Although your normal working hours will be 9am – 5.30pm, Monday – Friday, the position will also involve evenings and weekends for events, and so a flexible attitude to work will be essential. General Responsibilities • To assist the Venue Manager in the operation of events such as conferences, weddings, banquets, exhibitions and large outdoor events. • To sell the venue to customers looking to hold events at the racecourse. • To ensure the smooth running of the administration of bookings, i.e. keeping track of enquiries, booking forms, event details, and invoicing. • Working with the Venue Manager to deliver the marketing campaign for the events business including liaison with printers, graphic designers, PR agency, and the design agency • To manage and keep updated the relevant sections of the Bath Racecourse Website. • To take control of room setup for all events. • General Office duties including answering incoming calls, dealing with enquiries, taking bookings, assisting other team members etc. • From time to time you may be asked to perform other duties, which will be of a similar nature to those listed above. Bath Racecourse will reserve the right to alter the contents of your job description after a period of consultation. The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation. The package The job will be salaried at £15,000 per year, there will not be any overtime paid for any extra, or out of normal hours work, although you will be able to claim time in lieu. You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday per year, and will be eligible for the company pension scheme
