Over the past ten years; including study for an Honors-level degree in Time-based Media, I have gained extensive journalistic experience from live broadcast production and live radio reporting to casting, researching, and location DV directing/shooting. Having made programmes for both broadcasters and independents; including some BBC prime time projects, I have reached a good understanding of factual entertainment formats, target audiences, TV production procedures and techniques and a thorough awareness of editorial guidelines across various channels. I am an accomplished researcher with a proven ability of finding and selecting appropriate contributors, researching good stories and compiling detailed and accurate research briefs, researching times and dates and setting up filming schedules. I have found good strong characters for the majority of my programmes often searching countrywide to seek them out. ëThe Bachelor', ëFlog it', ëBooze Britain' and ëWho'll Age Worst?' are just some of the programmes that prove my experience in this area. I have recently learned how to record sound using a 4 channel SQN mixer. My most recent project; ëWho'll Age Worst?' required me to form and maintain relations with contributors and experts throughout a challenging series of shoots, often involving persuasive and tactful negotiating. Part of my responsibility was to probe contributors and try to evoke feelings and frustrations in order to create emotive television. I also organized a complex schedule of dates involving several sets of contributors and set up ambitious shoots despite severe constraints of time and budget. I worked alongside a self-shooting Director where I began to develop my directing and shooting skills. I have also recently learned how to record sound using a 4 channel SQN mixer. I pride myself with having excellent attention to detail, being able to work well in teams within a pressurized environment and an ability to lead contributors in a manner that encourages everyone to perform to their maximum proficiency. I make effective use of budgetary and personnel resources, consistently delivering results under extreme pressure, and have a clear understanding of relevant legal issues.
