I have recently completed an MSc in Music Engineering and Production at Glamorgan University, managing to pass with a merit award. In the course we learned about recording and mixing, remixing, music video, synthesis and post-production audio. It was the latter that really interested me and I found that I really enjoyed it. This was part of the reason I opted to base my final project around post-production sound design. For the project I took the sound off of a scene from The Silence Of The Lambs and then added my own audio which allowed me to manipulate it to my needs. In the end I created four variations of the sound design for testing in correspondence with the project aims which looked at sound design and the Gestalt Principles of Grouping. The scene on my portfolio is a combined version of the sound designs.
