IOP Publishing is a leading international scientific publisher and a wholly owned subsidiary of the London-based Institute of Physics, a scientific membership organization devoted to increasing the understanding and application of physics. Headquartered in Bristol since the 1970's, IOP Publishing produces a range of academic journals (more than 60), scientific websites and magazines, including Physics World, the membership title of the Institute of Physics.

As a learned society publisher, giving back to the community is important to us - we are proud to work with partners such as the International Atomic Energy Agency and CERN and we created online community resources to promote innovation, growth and networking. These include physicsworld.com, nanotechweb.org and brightrecruits.com.

Two principles upderpin everything that we do as an information provider to the research communities - design and production of the highest standard and swift and effective delivery using a variety of vehicles and media.

At IOP we are continually working with emerging technologies to meet the developing needs of our research communities. IOPscience is a unique platform designed to enhance the research experience and all of our IOP-hosted scientific, technical and medical content is now accessed through this platform. We are embracing new opportunities with social media, iPhone apps and multimedia.

Playing a big part in the local business community is important to us. We support many Bristol and South West initiatives and wherever possible we engage and work with local specialists and suppliers.
