Danny Gosling is a talented graphic design professional based in Somerset. Danny graduated from Middlesex University in 1994 with BA(Hons) in Graphic Design with 3D Design. He initially worked on major brands at a number of design agencies in London and the South East. Since moving to Somerset in 2004, he has worked freelance for both design agencies and in-house studios throughout Bristol and the South West.
In 2008, Danny established his own company, Thinkography Limited, and has continued to freelance whilst developing Thinkography as a small design studio.
Danny lives on a farm to the south of Yeovil with his wife and two young children (and a few cows), mixing a love of rural living with an interest in cycling, motorsport and strumming away at his guitar.

- BMW Lifestyle brochure

Brochure designed to promote the BMW Lifestyle brand of premium men’s and women’s clothing. Light, spacious layout was used together with large close-up images to emphasise the quality of the clothes and reflect BMW brand values. Alternating spreads with dramatic architectural images added visual interest and toned well with the company’s car brochures. Rhythm was created by varying the size of the product images throughout.

In-store POS for the launch of Clarks’ new Sports shoe range. The launch of the Sports range was a significant moment for Clarks, venturing away from their core product ranges of traditional smart and casual shoes. Danny was asked to develop the imagery and layout for the in-store point of sale material. Rich colourisation of the images gave drama, energy and visual appeal.

Colourisation and creation of shoe and handbag images for Clarks brochures. For both the shoe brochure and handbag brochure, only one example of each product was photographed. The brief was to create several versions of each image to accurately illustrate every available colour, including a number of metallic finishes – the white bag shown was created from a photo of a dark blue bag. The use of dramatic close ups of the shoes and bags in the brochure ensured it was vital that the work was to the highest standard.
- Clarks Launching Soon

Press and billboard advertising for Clarks’ Launching Soon store opening campaign. To promote a series of new store openings, Clarks asked Danny to illustrate the concept of a shoe as the bow of a ship, with champagne being smashed against the ‘hull’ as if it were an ocean liner being launched. Here the progression from the original photograph of a red shoe through to the final image is shown, with the metallic finish created before enhanced stitching and shadows are added to complete the desired effect.
- Our Place In History

Illustration and design of self-published history book, Our Place In History, for author Margaret Gosling. Historian and author Margaret Gosling asked Danny to design and illustrate the book telling the story of Wendover in Buckinghamshire. Danny created all original illustrations, maps and photographs to bring the story to life, and not only designed and artworked the book but published it through his company, Thinkography Ltd. The quality of the book has been widely admired and it has been a great sales success, having already been reprinted.
- Brettenham House website, for Skonka client Draco

Website for property developer Draco, promoting Brettenham House, a luxury central London office building. Working in association with Skonka, and their client Draco Property, Danny designed the look, feel and functionality of the business property site. Promoting an important office development on the banks of the Thames in central London, the design makes maximum use of the spectacular setting to give an exciting user experience.
- Soundbyte Solutions illustration

Exhibition backdrop and brochure for audiology equipment manufacturer. Soundbyte Solutions produce equipment used to test children’s hearing. Although bought and used by professional audiologists, one of the key features of the testing method is its appeal to children, and the rebrand needed to reflect this. Inspired by the Parrot and Phoenix product names, a fresh identity was developed, firstly for a brochure and then on this colourful exhibition stand.

Prospective designs for greeting cards. Danny’s simple and striking illustration style lends itself to clean, elegant greetings cards. In these examples, deep, sophisticated colours evoke classic seasonal thoughts of fine food, warm fires and good company.
