Narcissus Trance
08.00PM - 10:00PM | £3
Spike Island
A night of audio-visual performance exploring the peripheries of perception and experience through current media based practise. Featuring 16mm projections by New York filmmaker Rose Kallal, a live set by Scorn founder and former Napalm Death drummer Mick Harris and DIY electronics from London based sculptor and sound artist Tom Richards. Focusing on aspects of repetition, ritual and atavistic awareness the work of the contributing artists propose alternative models for engaging with technology whilst reflecting upon the evolving relationship between old and new media.
Curated by Paul Purgas and Shama Khanna. The event forms part of their Narcissus Trance research project investigating the legacy of Marshall McLuhan’s critical thinking within contemporary art.
