Artists Residencies: Open Discussion

03.00PM - 05:00PM | free event

Pervasive Media Studio, Leadworks

Join us for a free and informal discussion with our resident artists, recently commissioned by Watershed to develop experimental projects at the intersection of art, technology and culture. At the mid-point of their residencies, they will discuss their latest ideas and invite you to share thoughts on their progress.

Sharon Clark and Tom Burton are developing a new theatre piece inspired by magical realism and the writing of Angela Carter. The Stick House will be a custom-built space, fusing live performance with pervasive technologies to create a haunting yet beautiful experience.

Guerilla Dance Project led by Laura Kriefman, are working with composer Tim Bamber and interactive experience designer Robin Ray, to create a unique piece. Taking the historical building of St George's concert hall as a departure point, they are developing a new performance that explores how site-specific compositions combined with dance, can encourage us to reflect on the beauty that permeates our everyday.

Catch up with the artists’ progress, and share your questions and reflections. In their fourth week as Studio residents, there will be many ideas to discuss.

To reserve your free place, email grace.denton@watershed.co.uk quoting Artists Residencies Discussion. We look forward to welcoming you.

Artists Residencies 2011 are supported by Arts Council England, Sound and Music, St George's Bristol and Charles Hazelwood. For more information visit: http://www.pmstudio.co.uk/project/artists-residencies-2011
