How the World Got Mixed Up
03.30PM - 05:30PM | 0
Watershed
Mixing tales of lust and love in Brazil, India and Louisiana, and gross injustice in Germany, Virginia and Cape Town, this feature length documentary, part of BBC Two's Mixed Race Season, explores the historical and contemporary social, sexual and political attitudes to interracial relationships. Through the stories of liaisons which created scandals in their own time, the film chronicles the shifts in attitudes in the context of Europe's imperial expansion in the modern era.
Following the screening, join the programme's director David Okuefuna and Bristol-based Executive Producer Michael Poole for a discussion on some of the issues raised.
A Made In Bristol preview presented in partnership with BBC Bristol as part of Black History Month at Watershed.
